MICHELLE Obama memang konsistensi mengangkat citra perancang muda Amerika dengan rutin mengenakan karya mereka di setiap kesempatan. Namun menjadi kesempatan emas bila Michelle bisa mengenakan karya perancang lokal saat berkunjung ke Indonesia pada pertengahan Maret mendatang.
”Sebenarnya ini tergantung dari kepintaran Departemen Luar Negeri (Deplu) RI berdiplomasi. Deplu bisa menawarkan busana yang terbuat dari tekstil terbaik Indonesia untuk dikenakan Barack Obama dan keluarga saat berkunjung di Indonesia,” ucap pengamat mode Muara Bagja yang dihubungi okezone melalui telepon, Sabtu (13/2/2010).
Muara mengaku, kualitas perancang di Indonesia sangat mumpuni. Bahkan, banyak perancang muda yang bermunculan dengan karakteristik yang unik dan menarik. Terkait dengan perancang yang bisa menciptakan koleksi sesuai selera mode Michelle Obama, Muara menyebut dua nama, Sebastian Gunawan dan Chossy Latu.
”Chossy Latu memiliki karakter busana klasik, elegan, dan feminin. Begitu juga dengan Sebastian Gunawan yang kaya ide menciptakan sederet model busana menarik. Koleksi 2010 Sebastian terlihat lebih ringan, tidak rumit, namun memberi citra feminin dan cantik,” ulas Muara.
Selain dua perancang di atas, tak menutup kesempatan pada perancang lain untuk unjuk koleksi di hadapan Ibu Negara Amerika Serikat itu dalam sebuah pergelaran busana mini.
”Banyak perancang di Indonesia bisa mempresentasikan koleksi terbaik mereka. Michelle Obama bisa melihat karya maestro batik Iwan Tirta, Obin, kebaya Anne Avantie, atau koleksi Zaenal Songket,” saran mantan Ketua Umum Pusat Asosiasi Perancang Pengusaha Mode Indonsia (APPMI).
Mengenai kemungkinan Musa diberikan kesempatan lagi bisa unjuk koleksi di Wisma Negara, khususnya saat kunjungan Michelle Obama di Indonesia, Musa tak banyak berkomentar.
”Tidak ada informasi soal rencana itu kok,” ujar Musa, singkat.
Untuk diketahui, Musa pernah memamerkan karya terbaik di hadapan Ibu Ani Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono dan istri dari Sultan Haji Hasanal Bolkiah, 22 April 2008 silam.
”Satu kehormatan buat saya bisa memperkenalkan kekayaan budaya Indonesia, khususnya ranah Minang,” tutur Musa kepada okezone.
Saat itu Musa unjuk koleksi di acara coffee morning di Wisma Negara. Musa memang tidak sendiri, karena ada dua desainer yang turut berpartisipasi di acara tersebut, seperti Chossy Latu dan Stephanus Hammy.
”Kami masing-masing menampilkan delapan koleksi. Saya menampilkan koleksi Padang, sementara Chosy dengan batik prada, dan Hammy mengolah batik dari Bali,” cerita Musa.
Selama berkunjung di Indonesia, Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha juga disuguhi oleh produk-produk kreatif Indonesia, yang terangkum dalam pameran unggulan Nusantara. Peserta pameran ada dari Rumah Songket, Zaenal Songket, Afif Syakur, Mutumanikan, dan lain-lain.
”Ibu Ani tampaknya begitu konsen mengangkat produk-produk kreatif Indonesia. Hal itu tampak dari kesungguhan Beliau menceritakan kekayaan budaya Indonesia kepada Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha,” cerita Musa.
